50’s declaration of The LOX as the winner to last night’s (Aug. 3) Verzuz mirrors many of the sentiments expressed on social media, but his particular jab at Killa Cam is backed by a storied history that includes his past beef with the Harlem rapper. The two exchanged insults and diss tracks, and their rap groups even bumped heads with each other a few times. In 2011, however, Cam revealed that he no longer had any issues with the “Power” star.
“I don’t have no problem with 50. 50 cool with me,” Cam told MTV. “It was good for hip hop. We had our little hip hop beef or whatever you wanna call it, but ain’t no problem. Jim [Jones] and Juelz [Santana] do stuff with 50 and they camp all the time. I don’t have a problem with 50 at all. It is what it is. We had our little discrepancy, and we moved on from it.” Five years later, he took to Instagram and posted a photo of him and 50. The caption of the post read, “Money, Power, Respect.”
Since 50’s joke, Cam’ron took to Instagram to reflect on the battle in a post that gave props to his competitors. “Gotta tip my hat to @thelox. Great fucking show ya’ll,” he wrote before revealing some of the dates to The Rap Superheroes Tour featuring Dipset, The LOX and State Property.
